Need a book recommendation?

It is June, which means (a) Summer Reading has started at St. Louis Public Library and (b) it's time for new book displays in the Social Sciences room. This month we are dedicating one of our book carts to "books about books" to help our patrons who can't decide just what to read next.

In addition to these books, you may also want to check out some of the electronic recommendation services available via one of the "Helpful Links" on our catalog page - a great way to find books and/or authors similar to your favorites (note that some will require your library card number).

Have YOU signed up for the Summer Reading Club? Just go to the SLPL Catalog and click the "Summer Reading Club" button at the bottom left, pick your club (kids, teens, group, or adult) & enter your library card & PIN numbers.

There is a prize just for signing up, as well as for meeting the summer reading challenge: kids can earn a prize for reading 600 minutes, and Library Bucks (which can be used to pay off fines or to buy "cool stuff") for time spent reading in the Library; teens and adults get prizes when they "complete six Library activities" - three of which can be attending qualifying Library programs. For more info, stop by your local SLPL branch - & happy reading!
